Canon Camera 120 Megapixel Sensor Developed
Canon has announced its APS-H sensor camera that capable of taking pictures up to 120 resolution of megapixels, but the technology is only a proof of concept and will most likely be too expensive to commercialize soon. So do not expect to see cameras with sensors of this size in the near future.
CMOS sensor with APS-H size is the same type used in professional camera company Canon EOS 1D, but this time the sensor is packaged in a 13 280 X 9184 pixels, which is so dense that can capture full HD 1080p video using only 1 / 16 the surface area sensors. Sensor size is only 29.2 x 20.2mm.
This sensor offers 7.5 times the resolution of the 16-megapixel camera and will be able to shoot 9.5 frames per second of crisp picture, really high definition by modifying the method used to control readout timing circuit.
The market will most likely not ready enough for high-end sensors like this. Canon has been experimenting with 50-megapixel sensor in 2007, but even then it hadn’t reached the market yet.
